Gangaur is the colourful and the one of the most important festivals of people of Rajasthan and is observed throughout the state with great fervour and devotion by womenfolk who worship Gauri, the consort of Lord Shiva during July-Aug. It is the celebration of monsoon, harvest and martial fidelity in Jaipur. Gana is a synonym for Lord Shiva and Gaur which stands for Gauri or Parvati who symbolizes Saubhagya (marital bliss). The unmarried women worship her for being blessed good husband, while married women do so for the welfare, health and long life of their husbands and happy married life.   Courteousy: Wikipedia.

On this day People Worship the idol of Mata Gangaur and Isar ji.  I used to make Gauri and Isar ji with clay and worship them but this time due to lack of resources i made it on paper and completed my worship. It is not necessary to buy the wooden idol from the market , people can make it at home as well.  Prasad, particularly  made on this day is called “Gune” ( its a hindi word ). That is basically made from besan (salty one) and the other one is made from Wheat flour and jaggery as shown in picture.
